Dynamic and landscape quality in transitional urban-rural area
Abstract
The Landscape in the urban-rural transition area is of great importance to the leisure and recreational activities. These landscapes provide restorative effect on the urban populations. The dynamics of the landscape in these areas, however results very often in a loss of landscape qualities. This paper aims at analyzing the transformation of the landscape in the urban-rural transition area. Thus, we focus especially on the pressure exerted on these areas stimulating real estate speculation and the proliferation of urban activities in rural areas, with repercussions on farming and cattle raising activities, and on the remaining natural ecosystems.
