The process of occupation of the northwestern part of Rio Grande do Sul and the agricultural development

Abstract

The social, technical, structural and production elements of the productive sector of the Northwestern part of Rio Grande do Sul state are constantly been (re) arranged, considering that the physical-territorial conditions and the process of occupation of the space “sul-riograndense” are of great importance to the analysis of regional space organization. It is fundamental to combine space and society, understanding their importance and the impossibility of isolating one aspect from the other in this analysis. The occupational process can be considered as a defining element of the agricultural space organization and its evolution through the time, depends on the way the farmers are participating in the market and the way they behave themselves facing the inherent changes of the development.
