Abstract

The aim of this work consists to achieve a morphological characterization of a toposequence in São Pedro - SP. The characterization consisted initially of five important soil attributes distribution statistical analysis. This way, the trend surface analysis was carried out in the study with the purpose of verifying how the global and local variations act in the slope profile. The results showed the dominance of the Fine Sand fraction along the topossequence what suggest it to be a pedological transition system between Neossolos Quartzarênicos and Argissolos Vermelho Amarelos. Key words: soil dynamics; morphological characterization; topossequence; trend surface; statistical spatial analysis; São Pedro.
