The development of the geomorphological studies in the federal district

Abstract

As a function of current land occupation pattern in Brazil, rapid and intensive, the topographic studies need to be prioritized in order to control the anthropogenic processes. The definition of most appropriated methodological approach of each geomorphological analysis goes through a revision of previous publications. The obtaining of previous knowledge related to the study area is part of a common step for researchers. This work brings a review of most important geomorphological studies in the Federal District of Brazil with the purpose of subsidize future research and provide a compiled text of different geomorphological mapping conducted over the region.
