Changes in the familial agricultural technical system: the community suppliers of Santa Terezinha - São Pedro do Butiá - RS
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the technological development of domestic agriculture in Santa Terezinha – São Pedro do Butiá/RS and to evaluate the impact of this process in the contamination of water reservoirs. We describe how the community pulverizers work, which consisted in a pioneer project in Rio Grande do Sul state, and also we identify the environmental impact that occurred before the installation of such devices. Finally, we attempt to evaluate how this project helped to small producers so that they could adopt new agricultural practices attending the principles of self-sustainability, providing a viable and ecologically correct agricultural practice.
