Geography, water and brazilian popular music (MPB)
Abstract
This article analysis some of the water uses on Earth, specially in Brazil. In addition, it lists some of the Brazilian popular songs that can be used for teachers in classrooms, specially in Geography classes in elementary and high school. The Brazilian popular music (also called ‘MPB’) was considered the popular music that the recording companies and the media imposed to society. This kind of music is just a product of the cultural industry. The article not only mentions lyrics related to water, but also gives suggestion on how to work with them in class. It analyses briefly problems caused by the use of water. In the end, the article comments on Pantanal and suggests some lyrics than can lead to a study of Pantanal. Key words: Water. Geography. MPB.
