Approaches of cartography in the second half of the XX century

Abstract

This paper presents a theoretical and methodological discussion of cartography in the second half of the XX century considering its different approaches. It focuses on cartographic communications models and the impact of technology on the transformations of this science. It also discuses news approaches related to the popularization of the term “cartography”. Key words: Cartographic visualization. Theoretical cartography. Cartographic communication.
