THE COAST OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SALVADOR
Abstract
The coast ot Salvador, Bahia. The coast of Salvador (BA) shows a remarcab'e diversification of fea·ures, condítíoned to the nature of the local rocks, to the ropical climate and to the morphogenetic processes.
The abudance of the sand that insert among the litle capes origining new shores protected from reefs or sandstones includ in the recentbeachs that spread out by the coastline. Inside the Todos-os-Santos bay the shores are constitued maínly or organíc debris, carapaces, shells unbroken, some of them are moreover proteced by a reeflíne, covered at the high tide. Here to confront both environment, beachs bay and
beachs or opened sea.
