Abstract
Vegetable Proteins from the Amazon. I. From 1974, the Ministry of Agriculture in Brazil began to encourage the installation of large agro-industrial companies, mainly dedicated to the extensive creation of cattle in the Amazon Basin. Gomo Goodland and Irwin so well pointed in his work "Green Hell to Red Desert", this will be disastrous for the environment, since 'many changes that occurred with the felling forest and vast areas of land will be irreversible: the impoverishment soil and the disappearance of species will make it impossible to forest restoration
