Today in undergraduate courses, in which individuals are prepared for the exercise of teachers, much is discussed about the theory in the classroom, however, it leaves the practice aside, making the future teachers mostly have difficulty in applying methodologies. different ways to work in the classroom with students. Thus, through the Pedagogical Residency Program in Geography, it was possible to apply soil experiments, which appear as a way to show didactically various subjects involving the environment, as in the case of erosion, which will be highlighted in this article. In this way, the practices carried out served to facilitate the learning of students of elementary school II, from the 8th grade class of the municipal school Judith Barbosa de Paula Rêgo, located in the municipality of Queimadas - PB. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze the importance of soil practices in the teaching and learning process of elementary school students, based on the activities developed by the geographic pedagogical residency program. The collection of information was carried out through the survey and analysis of ideas brought by different references, in addition to the application of four questionnaires for students to answer before and after conducting soil experiments, in which an analysis of students' responses was made.
