Interest in the rural youth is not a recurring theme in geography. However, attention to this segment has grown, thus enabling understanding and greater visibility about this way of being young. The purpose of this text is to understand how young people living in a rural community, located in the Zona da Mata Mineira, live youth from the experience of leisure. This work is the result of an investigation carried out as a requirement for the completion of the Bachelor of Geography in the year 2021.In addition to bibliographic reviews on the topic and concepts covered, the methodology used interviews, carried out remotely, given the context of the lived Pandemic at the time of research. It was possible to identify, among other aspects, the multiple ways of experiencing spaces and leisure in and around the locality. Moreover, was evidenced the fragility of public policies aimed at leisure, culture, mobility, and even education for these young people.
