The growth of Brazilian urbanization over the last few decades has brought an evident change in the urban landscape grid and, consequently, in the ground cover. In this sense, the purpose of this study is the elaboration and application of typological classes that contemplate their use within the urban reality of Brazilian cities with the typological classes of the urban landscape morphology, based on the ground cover. For that, some adaptations based on the classification methodology described by Kafta (2014) have been made in order to make them simple and practical to define the elaborated classes. Furthermore, we use typological elements, with the matrix being in an urban form: the built forms. Thus, seven initial classes were identified based on soil cover and built forms, and 26 typological classes of the urban landscape morphology combining landscape-architectural elements with environmental elements. We used sections at a scale of 1:20000 for the cities of Recife, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Natal to validate the use of the classes and typologies of the urban landscape morphology Finally, the 26 classes designed to identify the Typologies of the Urban Landscape Morphology proved to be efficient for classification in different urban environments.
