Abstract

The idea of Nature has been permeating science, ever since  the constitution of  Modern Sciences. However it is not a closed concept and the conception of its definition has undergone many changes throughout history. In this sense, the Medieval period, especially the Late Middle Ages, contributed a lot to the constitution of the thought about Nature which ended up influencing the idea of Nature as we conceive until today. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the comprehension of Nature that has been developed throughout the Middle Ages and has perpetuated in modern sciences, especially in the geography itself. That is because, despite the wide contribution of the Middle Ages ideas to geography, few studies have addressed this issue.
