The present work is a review of the book O Massacre – Eldorado dos Carajás: a history of impunity written by journalist Eric Nepomuceno. The work makes a great contribution to agrarian geography and the geography of the Amazon by describing and analyzing the fateful episode of 1996 that resulted in the death of several members of the MST and became a watershed in the struggle for a fairer distribution of land in Brazil.
