WEBCafé WITH LITERATURE: A PROPOSAL TO ENCOURAGE READING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Abstract
Social media has gained significant relevance in today's world, allowing communication and interaction among people, the sharing of countless information, as well as the exchange of ideas, opinions, perspectives, and experiences on various topics. In this sense, social media can contribute to the dissemination of practices that promote reading and the creation of new readers, as can be seen by the results of the "WEBCafé com Literatura" (WEBCafé with Literature) project developed in 2020 by the Geography Tutorial Education Program (PET) at the State University of Londrina – UEL. Social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) were used as a strategy for promoting the reading of literary works. The observed results indicate that the social media environment, with its attractiveness, reach, and reachability, has significant potential for disseminating literary works, promoting reading, and creating new readers.
