Analysis of fragmentation in the landscape of Bom Repouso -south of Minas Gerais State
Abstract
This article deals with the process of change and fragmentation of the landscape in the area of Bom Repouso, located in the south of Minas Gerais state. The constant, dynamic changes in the rural areas triggered by anthropic actions in search of new forms of socioeconomic development for the municipality not only bring about serious negative results but also significantly tamper with the environment, thus contributing to the formation of the local landscape mosaic that is highly fragmented into different sectors. The study included in loco visitation, and interviews with rural producers and dwellers, which proved essential sources of information to allow for a better understanding of the cultural, historical processes associated with the settlement and use of the land, and to the development of the area, with the aim of promoting actions to preserve and rationally use the natural and landscape resources. Key words: Landscape. Landscape fragmentation and change. Bom Repouso-MG.Downloads
