The Geography of Aroldo de Azevedo
Abstract
The text aims to analyse the function of Aroldo de Azevedo in school Geography – because of its hegemony in schoolbook from 1940 to 1970 – , his thought in schoolbooks and in a few articles, all of which to make evident, among other points of view, the liberal doctrine and the imperialism defense, the racism, the elitist vision of society, the false impartiality and his conections with the “Regional French School”.
