Abstract

This work call attention to the role of images in tourism development, assuming that without lasting and clear images, the locations do not bloom, being restricted to a lethargic state. We attempted to work with the enunciations of Miossec, Tunisian geographer who recognizes three images in tourism: global, traditional and recent. Global image is understood as the necessity of the human being to leave his daily and ordinary world; traditional image is that fixed by culture through time; and finally, recent image is the one dictated by the contemporary beauty standards. Key-words: Images, Tourism, Perception.
