Territorial distribution of capital at the agrarian space in Ceará
Abstract
The State of Ceará kept along centuries its economics based on four mains factors: the extensive cattle-raising, the subsistence agriculture, the vegetal extractivisme and the cotton plantation. During the last decades, the economic and territorial re-structure processes are recognizable, leading the State of Ceará to become more feasible and integrated to the global production and consumption. The intensification of the capitalism at the countryside is one of these processes in progress. Due to these processes, parts of the agrarian lands are being affected by re-functionalization of its productive space, in which the expansion of the technical and normative systems have a special role in order to give them fluidity for the agribusiness. The integration between the local and global levels increased also for the new horizontal and vertical relations. This article intends to introduce the readers to the thematic of productive re-structure of agriculture in Ceará, as well as to its social and territorial impacts.
