Copyright Policies

The journal Geografia allows authors to maintain the copyright of their works, granting the magazine the right of first publication. Works are licensed under the Creative Commons BY License 4.0. Authors are free to share, copy, reproduce and adapt the material for any purpose, even commercial purposes, as long as first publication credits are given and properly cited, including the link to the material published in Geografia magazine. Likewise, readers are free to download, search, copy, print and distribute the magazine's content, without requiring permission from the magazine's author or editors. We emphasize that authors, editors and readers must, obligatorily, respect the legal assumptions established by Law no. 9,610, of February 19, 1998, as well as the CC BY license.

When authors choose Geography as their first publication, the journal will have the right to review the original manuscript, making grammatical, normative and spelling changes during the layout process, in which works accepted in the evaluation round will also pass to adapt to the magazine's graphic standard. The editorial committee does not reserve the right to make any changes to the authors' writing style or conceptual and methodological corrections, which are the responsibility of the evaluators when they deem necessary. These, when indicated by the reviewers, will be forwarded to the authors by the committee. Authors must necessarily make and point out corrections for publication of the article, in accordance with what is set out in the Peer Review Policy.
