Resumo

The distance between production and consume places is a variable usually considered as a basic factor to the explanation of the land use decision process. All the research developed in Brazil, but a few one, usually omit the locational advantages between places and the von Thünen's model (or theory or law) is very much criticized, particularly under the point of view that the Jand use pattern in the Isolate State is not common in the real world. The aim of this paper is basically academic and oriented to a recapttulatton of the normative principles and concepts related and derived from von Thimen's localization model, This model belong to economic-normative ramity, in conditions of perfect rationality and income maximization but, here these principles are emphasized in terms of how to do a method of analysis.
