Abstract

This article will show the analysis of Háku, the rattlesnake, one of the sixteen Traditional Figures that the arhuacas women knit on their knapsacks. This analysis is a result of three years of investigation to obtain the title of masters in Mathematical Education, and it implicitly presents an ethnomathematic proposal of how to approach an object of study in a different cultural context. This analysis, which is multidiscipline, will present some aspects that try to contribute to the understanding of the cultural and social meaning that the object of study in reference has. Keywords: Ethnomathematics. Analysis. Geometric configuration. Arhuacas knapsacks. Háku.
