Abstract

The urban climate has been the focus of several studies, however the growth of cities is still taking place without proper planning, environmental issues and the human comfort is not the main concern of the urban planner. This study aimed to evaluate the environmental variables, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and solar radiation exposing the significance for urban microclimatic behavior. It was installed in two different locations within the city of Cuiabá micrometeorological towers to collect data during 16-day period in the summer on 04 to February 20, 2009. As a result we can observe that the behavior of the data was different despite of micrometeorological towers being at a similar immediate surroundings, the urban climate behavior is complex and requires a deeper understanding.
