O Fundef e a Educação Básica em São Paulo: análise de quatro municípios

This paper presents a comparison of the performances adopted by municipalities in the State of São Paulo: Leme, Pirassununga, Rio Claro and Limeira, during the period between 1996 - 2000, executing the constitutional obligations regarding the supply of the basic education with the changes that began with the introduction of FUNDEF. The information analyzed proceeds from the data collected in organs of the direct public administration, research in the local press and interviews with representative of executive and educational community. The selection of municipalities tried to catch the difference in the strategies of the municipalities’ governments with the induction of the municipalization of primary school promoted with the implantation of FUNDEF in the State of São Paulo from 1998 on.Downloads
