GIS in the Socioenvironmental Diagnostic of Indigenou Reserve Apucarana-PR

Abstract

The present work had as main purpose to elaborate a Geographic Information System (GIS) of the indigenous Reserve Apucarana. Located in the city of Tamarana, in north of the Parana State, created in 1900 with 60.000 ha, to shelter some Kaingang. In 1949, the area was reduced for 6.300 ha, but currently, the area has just 5.640 ha, where approximately 1.120 indians live, distributed in 2 habitations nuclei, a total of 228 houses. From the Geographic Information System (GIS), a data base was elaborated, that congregated in an only digital base, material cartographic that if they found dispersed in some institutions, as well as that had been elaborated objectifying to the diagnosis of the socioenvironmental situation of the Reserve. The use of the Software SPRING, developed for the INPE, was basic in such a way in the elaboration of the data base, as in the generation and correlation of maps, calculation of area etc Key Words: Geographic Information System (GIS), Diagnostic Socioenvironmental, Indigenous Reserve Apucarana.
