SOCIOECONOMIC DIAGNOSIS OF THE MUNICIPALITIES OF THE RIBEIRÃO DO PÂNTANO BASIN (SP, BRAZIL)

Abstract

This article presents a socioeconomic diagnosis of the municipalities situated in the Ribeirão do Pântano basin, namely: Analândia, Descalvado and São Carlos, located in the western region of the state of São Paulo. The purpose of this diagnosis is to generate information for a better understanding of the basin’s socioeconomic dynamics and of the patterns of anthropic intervention on its ecosystems, which will serve to underpin the environmental zoning of the basin.
