The National Rural Environmental Registry System (SICAR) integrates the environmental information of rural properties declared in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). From this data set, the possibility of characterizing environmental conditions in different spatial clippings arises. In view of this, the objective was to use the CAR data for the generation of cartographic products at the hydrographic basin level. To this end, the CAR data of rural properties that make up the U030 Hydrographic Basin, located in the northwest region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, were downloaded. The data were processed in geographic information system. It was found that the territory of the watershed is occupied by rural properties (83.45%), urbanized areas (1.38%), conservation units (1.60%), indigenous lands (0.26%) and non-registered areas (13.31%). Rural properties preserve 110,535.71 hectares of native vegetation, distributed in 75,923.96 hectares of legal reserve and 54,127.45 hectares of Permanent Preservation Area (APP) and 19,515.7 hectares of APP also correspond to the Legal Reserve. In addition, it was found that 2,644.7 hectares of APPs require recomposition. Thus, the spatialization of CAR data allowed the generation of cartographic products that provide support for diagnosis and implementation of soil and water conservation policies.
