Abstract

The Boa Vista Aquifer System (SABV) is located in the State of Roraima, and its waters supply a large percentage of the capital, Boa Vista. Geologically, it is characterized by fractured sedimentary and volcanic rocks, however its depth, delimitation and lateral variability are massively unknown. This fact justifies the application of indirect tools, including the technique of Vertical Electrical Sounding (SEV) with Schlumberger arrangement. The study polygon is inside the urban area of the capital of Roraima (western zone, Cidade Satélite neighborhood). Thus, the hydrogeoelectric model proposed for the SABV indicated that the most significant permoporous zones are located between NW and NE and are more recommended for the installation of tubular wells. Sandy-clay and sandy packages are suggested. The resistivity values of these packages oscillate between 3,000 Ω.m and less than 14,000 Ω.m, identifying a favorable zone for the capture of groundwater. Therefore, wells can be drilled to a maximum depth of 55 m and a minimum of 32 m, seeking to capture groundwater with greater probability of success.
