The present study consisted of the intrinsic evaluation of the OSM data and the Spatio-temporal aspects in the Brumadinho tailings dam collapse - a case study. Based on the premise that OpenStreetMap (OSM) collaborative data can be used in humanitarian crisis management. The use of the OSM platform as a basis for the acquisition of geospatial data was due to the high number of contributors and generated data. From the clipping of the area affected by the disaster, a quantitative analysis of the edits over time was carried out, which allowed us to evaluate one of the potentials of the OSM, considering the impacts of the actions of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), which through Mapathon generated a significant amount of data in a short period. The methodology used consisted of a regression analysis performed in the Google Collaboratory environment using Python code that showed the number of edits in that region and an analysis of the generated vectors, acquired through a QGIS plugin called QuickOSM. The results showed that approximately, 8000 records were generated in an interval of one week after the disaster, 5000 of which in a single day. From there, it can be concluded that the mapping actions of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team have the potential to provide a quick response to the dynamics of soil alteration caused by environmental disasters.
