This article aimed to analyze the potential for GHG emission reduction from the implementation of the Urban Land Use Management in the municipality of Brusque/SC. The methodology was based on the application of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program tool for quantifying the emission of greenhouse gases, as well as on the determination of the influence of GHG on temperature variation in the city and on a global scale, through the Ellis and UCAR methods. The proposed scenarios involved the following means of transportation: public transportation, individual motorized transportation, bicycles, and walking. The result was that individual transport corresponds to the largest quantity of total emissions in the sector, and that the application of the scenarios corresponds to a reduction of up to 20% of the carbon dioxide emissions. A trend towards temperature reduction was observed as from the application of the proposed scenarios, with the UCAR method obtaining a global reduction of 0.90°C and the Ellis method obtaining a decrease of 0.92°C, which makes it possible to confirm that actions aimed at collective and more sustainable urban mobility result in lower emissions of pollutant gases into the atmosphere, with positive consequences for the environment and the population.
