This study aims to evaluate the influence of effluent discharge on the water quality of Lagoa dos Macacos, an environment with lentic characteristics, located in the Parque Natural Municipal das Timbaúbas in Juazeiro do Norte-Ce. The collections were carried out from November/2021 to March/2022. The results indicate that the BOD5, OD and SD parameters were in disagreement with what is recommended by CONAMA 357/2005 for class 1 water bodies, and that only the pH variable was in the range established for all collections carried out during the study. The high concentrations of organic matter and solid particles reveal that Lagoa dos Macacos has been acting as a receiving body for domestic and/or industrial effluents, indicating the presence of clandestine sewage connections in the rainwater drainage networks, altering its quality and bringing a risk of contamination. to the local aquifer through infiltration. The study also shows that during the rainy season the pond has its dynamics changed, causing the environment to present better conditions and consequently a better water quality, this is mainly due to the dilution factor caused by the increase in water input due to the rains.
