Tests for standards of chronic activity such as strength training mark adaptations in the muscular and nervous systems. In this review some of the involved mechanisms are examined in order to disclose the importance of the action of the central nervous system and all of its constituent parts on human movement and the development of strength. There is a consensus that neural adaptations and all of the neuropsychological processes are fundamental for improving motor control and developing muscle strength for individuals who are beginners and advanced in muscle training. Topical foci are: the profits of strength at the beginning of training, neural development and coordination to intra-muscular and inter-muscular neural factors and the neuromuscular system, co-activation and bilateral deficit. A final conclusion was that, during early stages of muscle training, the neural factors correlate with progressive increments in strength.Downloads
