The research aim was to understand why people are looking for nature, concerning sports and leisure activities, specifically adventure races. The method was based in a combination of two types of research: first, an analytical literature review was developed, in order to verify what the literature have been suggesting about the subject here proposed; and then a field research, by asking a group of subjects to fulfill a questionnaire. All the 21 subjects (20 men, 01 woman) took part in an important regional race. Most of them were graduated and their age ranged from 21 to 30 years. Moreover, they pertain to a privileged social group, live in a great city and are detainers of a good physical conditioning. Considering their answers to the questionnaire, the most frequent reasons mentioned were: contact with the natures; no limits; working in group; many activities together in only one race; challenge and adventure.Downloads
