The Track and Field is a sport that most of the time has been dismissed at school. However, UNESP at Rio Claro has been diffusing it by means of a project based on service delivered to the community named “Track and Field for children and young people”, since 1999. In 2007, the project offered weekly classes, visits to the campus track and field and, images exhibitions. Such activities represents the main objective of the project, that is the Track and Field popularization, by means of providing experiences and knowledge diffusion. Although the project has reached a significant number of participants, it is important to emphasize that, besides initiatives like the project that aim the Track and Field diffusion, it is necessary that the teachers include it in their physical education classes.Downloads
