The aim of this study was to investigate physical activity practice associated with corporal satisfaction in adolescence. The population of this study was composed by adolescents of 13 to 19 years old, students of a Technological Education Federal Center in Santa Catarina – Brazil. The sample was 316 adolescents who volunteered for the research. Three questionnaires were used for the survey. The data was analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistic. The results showed that girls were significantly more dissatisfied with their body than boys. It was also observed that physical activity was associated with corporal satisfaction and adolescents that practiced physical activity showed more corporal satisfaction. The opposite is true and there was a tendency that sedentary adolescents were dissatisfied with their body, mostly girls. The study concluded that physical activity practice in adolescence is an important behavior to build a positive perception of the body.Downloads
