Georg Black: life and memory in the Physical Education Sul-Rio-Grandense

The trajectory of life of Georg Black, considered the precursor of the physical education and the sports in the State of the Rio Grande Do Sul, was marked by many accomplishments. For its excellent contribution in the propagation of the German gymnastics in the esportivos clubs and the schools of the German community of Porto Alegre and 30 years Are Leopoldo for more than (1905-1937), some authors (Daudt, 1952; Hofmeister, 1987) it to it mentions as being the “Father of the Physical Education in the Rio Grande Do Sul”. Its name is remembered in some “places of memory” of the society port-alegrense: Communitarian center Georg Black (CEGEB), Group of Escoteiros Georg Black and in some sectors of the SOGIPA. In this way, the central objective of the present study was to reconstitute to the history of life of Georg Black in the scene of the physical education and sports of the Rio Grande Do Sul. For in such a way, the consulted sources had been the act books and annual reports of the SOGIPA, commemorative books of this society of gymnastics, Atlases of the Sport in Brazil and the Rio Grande Do Sul, Catalogue of the Sport and Physical Education in the Magazine of the Globe, Esportivo Register of the Rio Grande Do Sul, Periodical Post office of the People, monographs, dissertações and teses, among others sources printed. Such sources had been submitted to the documentary analysis, whose information here are presented.Downloads
