This article aims to discuss the Brazilian automobilism since the moments that are made the first race cars better structured (São Paulo, 1908; and Rio de Janeiro, 1909). We investigate specifically Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo by the importance they occupied in the country and because there we could identify the most significant events of Brazilian automobilism and the increasing of the presence of the automobile in the Brazilian scene. We argue that the theme allows us to launch a look at the history of the country since around it we can pick something from the series of tensions that marked the twentieth century.Downloads
