The aim of this study is to develop a revision of three teaching models for Sport Games, which unify different, but complementary, focuses. The Teaching Games for Understanding, being pioneer in the change of a conceptual paradigm, operate the transition from the technical abilities' domain to a focus in the game comprehension and decision-making; the Developmental Model is assumed to be effective structuring the instructional process resulting from the integration of subject matter with the didactical procedures; the Step Game Approach joins the ideas of the previous models, contextualizing them in a team sport, Volleyball. The contribution of these models to the renovation of the game teaching conceptions is the main topic of the present article, looking to highlight the tendencies of the research in the field as well as its outcomes in the practice domain.Downloads
