Good ethical practices in scientific communication
Plagiarism
“Motriz. Revista de Educação Física” is strongly committed to ethics and scientific quality, following the guidelines and procedures of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE, the Publishing Ethics Resource Kit – PERK, from Elsevier, the SciELO Guide to Good Practices for Strengthening Ethics in Scientific Publishing and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, recommended by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA and WAME”.
All those involved in the publication, authors, reviewers and the Editorial Board in their entirety, commit to the ethical and institutional duties and obligations of the journal. Scientific misconduct that violates the ethical obligations and duties subscribed to by “Motriz. Revista de Educação Física” will justify the pertinent liability, depending on the intervention in the publication process (submission, review or editorial procedure).
“Motriz. Revista de Educação Física” uses the Turnitin tool to track plagiarism and self-plagiarism after the article has been accepted by the Section Editor, and authors must be aware of the implications provided for in the legal provisions of the Penal Code (article 184) and the Copyright Law (Art. 7, third paragraph of Law No. 9,610, of February 19, 1998 – see Law No. 12,853, of 2013).

Use of artificial intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence in the process of preparing articles submitted to “Motriz. Revista de Educação Física” is permitted as long as it is in line with the ethical precepts of scientific research. Thus, artificial intelligence tools and language models cannot be listed as authors, nor be responsible for any excerpts or contents of the manuscript.
The following activities will be considered acceptable for the use of these tools: (i) assistance in writing manuscripts when used to paraphrase or improve the author's original content; (ii) literature search, as long as the author(s) are responsible for the selection and critical analysis of the research carried out; and (iii) in the production of images or graphic elements, and this must be explicitly stated in the Materials and Methods section of the article with details of how the tool was used.
The use of these tools must be declared in the Submission Form. In all cases, the authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their research articles.

Policy for Editor-in-Chief Succession
“Motriz. Revista de Educação Física” advocates a plurality of ideas and management rotation, reinforcing its commitment to the succession of professionals who will serve in its Editor-in-Chief Office.
Each editor-in-chief will serve for a four-year term, in line with the terms of the board of directors of the Physical Education Department of the Biosciences Institute of Unesp, Rio Claro Campus, which may be extended for another four years, if the board of directors is interested and agrees.
Considering the experience with the journal, it is recommended that future Editors-in-Chief be appointed primarily from the Associate Editors' team.
