Abstract

The improvement of germinated seeds of Melaleuca leucadendra (L.) L. (Myrtaceae) was obtained by density separation of three-day old seedlings in 60% sucrose solution. This method demonstrated to be efficient for separation and yield 100% of normal seedlings eliminating non-germinating seeds which liberate dark becoming substances responsible for inhibition of lettuce hypocotyl elongation.
