Abstract

This article presents an analysis of six papers and two face-to-face meetings of the Environmental Education and Social Movements Research Discussion Group, during the 10th Environmental Education Research Meeting, held in Sergipe, in August 2019. Five Brazilian states were represented: Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso and Sergipe, with participants from six institutions: UNIRIO, UFES, Sapê do Norte Institute, UFJF, UFMTand UFS. We identified seven emerging themes that were addressed by the authors: territories, feminisms and ecofeminisms, environmental racism, environmental conflicts, paleontology, sustainable development and poetics. Of these themes, women's action and the pedagogical dimension of environmental conflicts were the most prominent. Analyzes show that environmental challenges should not be faced only by the adoption of domestic and private behaviors, but above all, by political participation in the public sphere and the protection of rights.
