Abstract

By challenges, we understand the crisis of the many dimensions of life that we are going through now. It is not empirical, but is expressed in our theoretical perception of reality. If there is insecurity, also arise references on which we can seek support. Amid the perplexity of a disorder that borders on chaos, we have fulfilled our tasks whit the intention of opening new perspectives. It is in this sense that we bring, here, the results of the discussions that took place within the scope of the Research Discussion Group (GDP) in Environmental Education an Epistemological Issues, during the holding of the X Environmental Education Research Meeting (X EPEA), held in period from 01 to 04 September 2019, in Aracajú/SE/Brazil. Thus, in this paper, in addition to presenting a brief summary of the eleven works registered in GDP, five theoretical surveys and six empirical surveys, we seek to present the main challenges faced by GDP over the last three EPEA editions (VII, VIII, IX), based on the articles published in the Environmental Education Research Magazine (REVPEA), in the issues dedicated to Environmental Education Research Meetings. In addition to the challenges theoretical-epistemological and institutional, we draw perspectives for the continuity of GDP works.
