This article presents a field research carried out in four elementary schools located in the South Region of Brazil, in order to compare the impact of different school characteristics on the relationship between children and nature, the well-being of infants and their satisfaction with the school. Individual interviews were carried out with children from four 4th grade classes, with full professors and with the directors of the institutions. The research indicates that the union of certain school characteristics has the ability to favor both the construction of ecological values and sustainable attitudes and behaviors, as well as satisfaction with the school and the well-being of students in the school environment, contributing to the construction of sustainable societies.
