Consumerism and aggression to the environment are some anthropic actions emerging from the human-nature dichotomy, reinforced throughout our history. Understanding that birds can promote a rapprochement to the environment, essential in the effective formation of an ecological subject, this study - qualitative, theoretical and descriptive - seeks to discuss, based on a survey of previous research, how the observation and study of birds can serve as subsidies for an Environmental Education that brings the peers together, in formal and non-formal spaces. In this position, bird watching stands out as a contextualized and potential activity in promoting a necessary (re)awareness in relation to the environment.
